Consultation is underway to help inform a review of the South Lanarkshire Council byelaws which prohibit the consumption of alcohol in designated public places.

Everyone is being asked for their views and can take part in the survey on the council website.

Survey responses are anonymous and no personal data will be processed.

The current byelaws prohibiting the consumption of alcohol in designated public places came into force in South Lanarkshire in March 2010 and were updated in April 2014.

The council’s Chief Executive, Paul Manning, said: “I would encourage everyone to take part in this survey to make their views known.”

The survey will close on 8 July 2026.
